Timothy Thomas Ballard

February 6, 1958 - April 28, 2020
Born in Caribou, Maine
Resided in Anchorage, Alaska

Timothy Thomas Ballard, 62, beloved husband of Kimberly Ballard passed away at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska, after a short battle with cancer. He will always be remembered as a quiet man with a snappy answer, a dry sense of humor and a generous nature. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He was born in Caribou, Maine, on Feb. 6, 1958, the seventh child of Raymond and Lorraine (Cote) Ballard and was raised in that area with his three sisters and nine brothers. He graduated from Caribou High School in 1976 and joined the Air Force. The Air Force brought him to Anchorage in 1979, where he remained for over 40 years. He met Jo Brenner and they married in 1981, raising four children in Anchorage and Palmer. Tim married his second wife Kimberly in 1993, and raised three children. The seven children were frequently together and had many adventures outdoors as a family.

Tim loved hunting and fishing and showing off Alaska. He invited several siblings to come and enjoyed taking them hunting or sightseeing. He loved returning to Maine to visit family.

Tim worked for Northern Hydraulics for a time, then stayed with Bob's Services Inc. for 33 years until his death. He was a wizard with anything mechanical.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; his children, Nathan A. Ballard of Roseburg, Ore., Chelsey McEldowney of Richmond, Va., Amanda Gill, Christina Carpenter, Nicole Lewis, Cheryl Rice and Nathan R. Patterson, all of Anchorage; his siblings, Althea D'Andria, Raelene Foley, Liana Gottlieb, Colin Ballard, Layne Ballard, Leland Ballard, Daniel Ballard, Curtis Ballard, Russell Ballard, Patrick Ballard and Dwight Ballard; his 12 grandchildren, Jadon, McKenna, Brayden, Elliot, Parker, Emmit, Bode, Isabella, Carolyn, Kaiden, Tabatha and Samantha; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Steve Crask.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lorraine Ballard; and his brother, Peter Ballard.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, his memorial service hasn't been scheduled yet.
