Born in Hartford, CT
Resided in Eagle RIver, Alaska

Rene Joseph Dionne was born on Sept. 19, 1959, and went to heaven on May 27, 2020, from Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Rene was born in Hartford, Conn., and moved to Alaska with his family in 1972. Rene graduated Chugiak High School and after worked as a jeweler for many years. Rene was a jack of all trades and loved motorized machinery especially motorcycles/dirt bikes. He was a perfectionist at whatever he did and could fix just about anything.

Rene's spirit animal was the raven - a white raven we believed - friends and family called him Raven. If you were to meet Rene for the first time he might introduce himself as Ray, Roger or maybe Randy, never really caring to use his given name until he got to know you. His peculiarities are what made him who he was and was the essence that made him a beautiful person. He was a physically a strong man, hard worker, always had projects going. Self-employed most all his life, he would quietly ponder problems that might arise from one of many projects until a solution revealed itself.

Rene "White Raven" is survived by his mother, Patricia Dionne; and brothers, Ronald and Mark.

Preceding Rene shortly after arriving to Alaska was George Dionne, husband to Patricia and father of the four Dionne brothers. The oldest of the brothers Michael Dionne passed in 2019. There are pieces of our hearts that we lose as we go forward in our lives, a big piece of our hearts has gone with White Raven's passing. We plan on a private non-formal service; this is how he wanted it. Please no sympathy calls, if you would like to do something in his memory a donation to some cancer foundation would be appropriate. This too is what Rene would have wanted.
