Born in Lodi, California
Resided in Anchorage, AK

Piper Rain Emerson passed away suddenly on Jan. 13, 2015, from complications due to asthma and bronchitis. Piper loved her pets, CoCo Chanel and Pepe LePew, her family and friends, her Green Bay Packers and life. She was always doing little things for others, offering a quick smile, a word of encouragement or sassy remark, whichever fit. Piper loved Homer, Alaska, and walking the beach for her therapy, water skiing at Big Lake, Alpine skiing at Alyeska, cross-country skiing at Russian Jack Park, hiking at Thunderbird Falls and camping on the beach in Homer and recently snowshoeing with her friend, David. She also was an avid reader and most recently was reading an anthology about her "Uncle Waldo," Ralph Waldo Emerson. Piper, of Lodi, Calif., also lived in Stockton and Lathrop, Calif. Most of her childhood was spent on a farm in Lathrop. She loved animals. She attended Manteca High School. After high school, she moved to Las Vegas, Nev. Piper was a cocktail waitress and bar manager in Vegas, but hit her stride as a real estate agent. Piper is survived by her son, Curt; her daughter-in-law, Valerie; her grandson, Julian; and her three brothers, Gene, Randy and Tom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Pets, Anchorage, Alaska.
