Tudor Road, Anchorage at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 7. Mary is survived by her daughters, Heather and husband, Jeff Freeman and Kathryn and husband, Mike McCormack. Mary was born August 25, 1921 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Stephen and Kathryn Truse, first generation immigrants from Belorussia. After high school graduation, Mary attended Seton Hall University and during the war worked for several defense contractors including Grumman Aircraft, a role in the war that she was quite proud of. In October, 1947, Mary met and married a handsome ex-RAF pilot, Wilson Thomson in New York. They remained married for 60 years until Wilson's passing in 2007. After living in New York, where her husband worked as a magazine illustrator, they moved to Newmarket, Ontario, Canada with their two daughters. Mary worked for the Ontario Attorney General's office in Toronto as a legal secretary until her retirement in 1986. Mary joined her two daughters in Anchorage in March, 2014, living with her daughter, Heather, until her passing. While in failing health, Mary remained active and alert until the day of her passing, being lovingly cared for by her daughters and sons-in-law. Mary was able to enjoy Anchorage and its surroundings the past five months with many outings and adventures with her family throughout the spring and summer months.
