Kenneth Leon Michal (Wasson), 55, passed away suddenly on January 24th, 2020 at his home in Wasilla, Alaska. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Cremation Society of Alaska, 1306 E 74th Ave, Anchorage. Native services pending, date to be determined.

Kenny was born on December 31, 1964 in Anchorage, Alaska. He received his associates degree as a diesel mechanic in Colorado from American Automotive and Diesel College. He later married Dawn Kuzik in Anchorage and the couple welcomed many children and grandchildren over the years together.

He loved to work on the fish wheel in Gulkana, Alaska and his family's native allotment at Mile 50 of the Richardson Highway. He has been a lifelong resident of Alaska, also living in Valdez as a young child, later moving to Anchorage and then out to Wasilla in 2002. He also enjoyed spending time playing hockey when he was younger.

"Heavy auto-diesel mechanics aside, he was happiest while spending time with his grandkids and family. An entertaining sense of humor and a vast collection of dad jokes was something you could always count on. He was the type of person that always knew exactly what to say whenever someone needed emotional support, a personality that cannot be duplicated. He was the type of person to give away the shirt off his back if someone needed it more. No matter what anyone put him through, his door and his heart was always open to anyone who needed it. He may be gone, but his spirit will live on through his family and he will never be forgotten."

Kenny is survived by his wife, Dawn of Wasilla; daughters,Rachael (Adam) Holly of Anchorage Jennifer (Kirby) Puckett of Parker, CO, Kassandra and Jessica Wasson, both of Wasilla, Kateryna Michal of Wasilla; son, Michael (Caitlyn)Blair-Wasson of Anchorage; granddaughters, Aurora Michal, Jennifer Wasson, Hailey Wasson, Izabella Sledge and Aurelia Blair; grandsons, James Janis, Carter Puckett and Jaxson; father, Joseph Michal of Wasilla; brothers, Steve Wasson of Gulkana and David (Mona) Wasson of Wasilla; sister, Wanda Richardson of Anchorage and niece, Shelby Schuler of Anchorage.
