Obituary

Kathleen Beatrice Warner, 84, of Anchorage, Alaska passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, in Anchorage of natural causes.
She was born in Petaluma, Calif. The daughter of Jack and Alice Hontar on June 11, 1934.Kathleen was a graduate of Petaluma High School. She moved to Alaska on July 20, 1957, to visit her husband Charlie "for just a couple of weeks." She settled in the little town of Spenard until March 1971. Kathleen and her family moved way out to Dimond Blvd, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She was the lunch lady at Dimond High School from 1967 to 1977. She was well loved by all the kids and she was well loved by all her children's friends.
Her door and kitchen were always open to family and friends as she always wanted to make sure you were well fed. She was a fantastic cook. She lived for her children and was a huge dog lover. Kathleen got a schnauzer named Stanley late in life and that goofy dog allowed her to meet the neighborhood on their daily walks on the bike path along Campbell Creek. She built lasting relationships with her friends and dog friends on those walks.
She is survived by her sons, Wesley and Douglas Warner; her sister, Ellen Hudson; and grandchildren, Caroline Kardell, Natalie Kardell, Charlie Warner, Madilyn Warner, Robert Warner; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alice Hontar; her brother, Bobby Hontar; her sister, Beverly Mendes; her husband, Charles H. Warner; her daughter, Karen Kardell (née Warner); and her dogs, Stanley and Sophie.
She is now with her departed family and Stanley walking the trail once again. Celebration of life will be held on Dec. 1, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Anchorage Moose Lodge No. 1534, 4211 Arctic Blvd, Anchorage, AK 99503.
