Born in Texarkana, Texas
Resided in Anchorage, Alaska

Judy Lynn McDonald of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Dec. 23, 2020, at the age of 73.

Judy was born in Texarkana, Texas, to JT and Maggie Roberds on July 12, 1947, as the first of four children. She married James Robert McDonald on Dec. 17, 1966, and had three children - Phyllys, Adam and Dylan - over the course of the 25-year marriage. Judy was mostly a stay-at-home mother until the family moved from Texas to Eagle River, Alaska, in 1988. In Alaska, she developed an avid interest in hiking, camping and being outdoors. She earned a bachelor's degree in English and went on to work in the education and social service fields. She loved drawing and writing. Her passion for all things crafty led her into lapidary and jewelry making in her spare time. She even tried her hand at owning a florist shop. However, her biggest passion was probably genealogy. The excitement she had when she found a new family connection could be infectious.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother, father and former husband.

Judy is survived by her siblings, Cindy, Jane and Jay; children, Phyllys, Adam and Dylan; and grandchildren, James, Torsten and Magnus.
