Obituary

John Gerald Witt, 61, of Anchorage, Alaska, died on Aug. 2, 2020, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.

John was born on Jan. 12, 1959, in Tacoma, Wash., to Robert "John" and Marjorie Witt.

He attended Service High School in Anchorage. He started working at Carrs in 1983, in the meat department, spending most of his years there as the Meat Department Manager.

Throughout the childhoods of his kids, he enjoyed coaching them through softball and baseball. He enjoyed watching the Raiders play as he was a die-hard fan. He also loved bowling and was a part of a bowling team called The Bandits, with his wife Connie and his close friend Mike Conway, as well as many other close friends. He also enjoyed taking his motorcycle out on the road.

He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Witt; his wife, Connie Johnson; siblings, Robert "Bob" Witt (wife, Cindi), Brad Witt (deceased spouse, Margot), Kevin Witt (spouse, Renee) and Heidi (spouse, Glenn); children, Jasmyn Francisco (spouse, Jonathan), Aaron Witt (spouse, Michelle) and Kailin Witt; stepchildren, Jessica Fujimoto (spouse, Keo) and Samantha Mulhern; ex-wife, Kirsten Witt; grandkids, Jade Stovall (spouse, Antonio), Julia Francisco, Jonathan Francisco, Maiya Francisco, Colten Witt, Casen Witt and Kaden Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "John" Witt; and nephews, Jordan Witt, Justin Witt and Grant Fowler. His beloved dog Sitka passed just before John, and they were reunited with the spreading of their ashes
