James Kiminock was born to John and Betsy Kiminock in Little Diomede, Alaska. He enlisted in the Army National Guard receiving an honorable discharge. He then took the challenge of becoming an X-Ray Technician where he attended training at the US Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island, New York. He graduated June 25, 1964. He accepted a position at the Alaska Native Medical Center as an X-Ray Technician and worked ten years as an X-Ray Tech. In 1974, Jim was reassigned to Phoenix, Arizona where he completed Community Health Medic Training. He was promoted to Physician Assistant in OutPatient/Emergency Department in 1977 and remained working as a PA until he retired in 1995.
Jim met Helen Little in 1995 and became loving partners for life. They enjoyed many happy times traveling throughout the United States and Mexico.
Jim loved playing golf, fishing, boating, and large gatherings of beloved family and friends. He was a 20 year season ticket holder for the Aces Hockey team. He was a member of the Anchorage Moose Lodge. Jim was a loving, gentle, caring man. Strong, Determined, Loyal and Kind, he was a friend anyone would be honored to have.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Betsy and John Kiminock; brothers, Walter, Patrick and John Kiminock and sister, Edna Alvanna.
He is survived by his partner of 25 wonderful years, Helen Little; son, Redford Quinten Scott Kiminock; sisters, Lena Kiminock and Mary Moyer; granddaughters, Mia and Alyssa Kiminock; grandson, Scott Kiminock and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a celebration of Jim’s life next summer.
