Dave was born December 29, 1942 in Lewiston, Maine to Burra and Valerie (Taylor) Lincoln. After attending Calais Memorial High School, he joined the US Army, Corps of Engineers. Dave served in Thailand and Korea; receiving many awards and certificates throughout his service and was a M16 expert. Some of his decorations include; Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, National Defense Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. Dave worked in Civil Service and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar; as well as hunting, fishing and collecting guns.

"Dave was a very special person to all that knew him. He loved spending his summers with all of his family in Maine, on the coast where he grew up. Known to many as Pops, Danger Dave, Cowboy Dave, Fav Dave or Grandpa. He always had good stories to tell and was usually sighted near Wasilla, Chain Lake, Gleasons Cove, Leighton Point Road or South Bristol, with a cowboy hat on and a pipe in hand. We all will cherish the times spent fishing, shooting guns, playing guitar and singing and laughing around the campfire. Dave will be missed deeply but his memories will last forever."
