Obituary

After a courageous battle with cancer, Clair Edward “Ed” Coyle, age 63, passed away in his home in Wasilla, Alaska on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 with his wife by his side.

Ed was born in Mason City, Iowa on March 12, 1956. As a boy he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his siblings. Ed served our country from 1973-1977 in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. Following his service, Ed moved to Northern CA in 1979 where he met his wife DeEtt (Drege). They married in 1984 and moved to Wyoming where Ed worked in the oil fields and geothermal drilling platforms. He attended Cheyenne ArrowTech receiving an Airframe-Power Plant Mechanic Certificate and also obtained his CDL. For the last twenty years, Ed and DeEtt have made their home in Alaska. He truly loved living in his beautiful state and enjoyed spending time outdoors with all it has to offer. In 1997, Ed and his brother Pat started their sawmill business, C & B Timber of Alaska. Ed also enjoyed recreational placer mining and was a member of several associations. Those fortunate enough to have had him in their lives know that he was one of a kind and he will be deeply missed. He will forever be in the hearts of family and longtime friends

He was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Audrey Coyle, sister Penny, and brother Pat.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 35 years DeEtt Coyle, two sisters Chris and Connie of Iowa, and many precious family members.
