Obituary

Charles ("Chuck", "Poppa") Anderson was born in Cordova, Alaska, June 8th, 1931 to Alex and Katie Anderson.
In his earlier years he worked on the Alaska Railroad and did a lot of Commercial Fishing in the area.
In 1953 he married June Elaine Foode ("Mam") and then later joined the Marines and is a Korean War Vet. When he returned to the United States he decided to go to school to become an Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanic. He worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington for a few years and then moved back to Alaska.
He started work for Pacific Northern Airways in Anchorage and became their Lead Mechanic.After the 1964 Earthquake we moved to Kodiak for a while and then moved to Fairbanks.In Fairbanks he started work for Alaska International Air which primarily flew Hercules C-130's,He became Lead A&P Mechanic, then Supervisor and then decided to get his Inspectors License. Working with AIA he had the chance to travel the world. They did Cargo Hauling Contracts for various clients.
His travels included: Hawaii, Canada, French Guiana, Canary Islands, Lagos, Amsterdam,Sweden, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Budapest, Algeria, Gabon, Port Sudan, Khartoum, London,Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Jakarta, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur; Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Australia, Tokyo, The Marshall Islands and the Research Island located on the Most Northern Pack Ice called T-3.
"Poppa" is survived by his wife: June Anderson, daughters: Elizabeth and Paula, and son: Tim and Grandsons, Jimmy, Dmitri, and Aleric;Granddaugher, Stephanie; Great Grandson, Cameron; and several nieces and nephews.
