Anne Prewitt, 54, joined her Lord and Savior on Nov. 7, 2020. She was surrounded by her husband Ron and dear sister Fran at Providence Alaska Medical Center. She had been valiantly fighting breast cancer since January of this year.

Anne was born on Nov. 6, 1966, in Tacoma, Wash. She was the youngest of six children of Betty and James Fleischmann. She graduated from Henry Foss High School and attended Central Washington University, graduating with a degree in special education. She went on to have a career as a teacher. On July 22, 1989, she married Ron Prewitt. Anne and Ron moved to Alaska, living first in Chevak before making their home in Chugiak. Anne was a loving mother to her five children and touched the lives of many students while a special education teacher at Chugiak Elementary.

Anne loved her family. Her husband and five children meant the world to her. She enjoyed hosting get-togethers and taking family and friends on vacations. She especially enjoyed her many trips to Washington, California, Hawaii, Disneyland, Disneyworld and numerous road and camping trips around Alaska and the Lower 48. She was a master crafter, expert party planner, amazing cook, a wonderful friend to many and, above all, loving, forgiving and understanding. Anne showered her loved ones with hospitality, looking after their every need. There was nothing Anne would not do for her friends and family. Anne was truly one of the nicest, most generous people you would ever meet; she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and James.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ron; her children, Nick, RD, Adam, Sara and Alex; her siblings, Jim, Mary, Sharon, Charley and Fran; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends throughout Alaska and Washington state.
