Biography
Kathy E. Thompson-Ford, 48 of Wasilla died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her home.
Memorial Services will be held at the AmVets Post 9 in Wasilla July 16, at 7PM
Kathy was born January 16, 1962 at Pine River, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Pine River. Kathy moved to Alaska in 1982. She was a Palmer State Fair volunteer. She served during the 80's in security and the canning department with friend, JoAnn Smith. More recently she served in the arts and crafts assisting in the beautiful displays. She was also a Capital Speedway fan.
She had many friends,neighbors,and extended family, and dearest to her was here "Twisted Sisters"(she was their "Mean Joesphine") all will miss her dearly. Kathy's family would like to thank all of those wonderful people who loved and helped her through the years, but especially in these last months of cancer treatment. Kathy loved planting,helping neighbors and friends and spending time with those she loved.
Kathy is survived by her husband, John Ford, Wasilla; father, Joe Thompson, Oregon; mother-in-law, Frances Kelso, Georgia; Sisters, Holly Turcotte, Nevada; Audrey Squires, Washington; Etta Bernu, Minnesota; and Fayette Locnikar, Minnesota; Brothers, Tyrone Thompson, Minnesota and Brett Thompson, Arizona; four nieces and Eight nephews, one niece, Keely Latimer, resides in Palmer, AK
She is preceded in death by her mother, Greta Thompson, niece Cheryl Thompson and father-in-law, Gary Kelso.
