Obituary

Patricia (“Pat”, “Tish”) Louise Lentz, Age 64, passed away at home due to ovarian cancer on July 19, 2017. She was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Henry (Pap) Lentz, Sr and Doris Lentz. She moved to Alaska in November of 2003 and finally found what she called her home.

She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, partner, and friend. She would characterize herself as a “chatterer” and never met a stranger. She loved life and found kayaking to be her place of complete peace and serenity. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, and her many friends.

She was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had many years of sobriety. She would say that AA saved her life and gave her a life of meaning. She was cherished by all she met and touched many lives through her committed service to others in AA. She knows she was carried by her Higher Power.

She worked with the Veteran’s Administration as a Dietitian and Diabetes Educator and was well respected in her profession. She loved her job, her coworkers and was deeply committed to the veterans that she proudly served.

She lived her life to the fullest and she was able to experience most of what she wanted to do in her life. She had no regrets.

She is survived by her loving partner, Kathy Chastain, her brothers, Henry Lentz, Junior (Dolly) Lentz, Jim (Sharon) Lentz, nieces and nephews, Scott, Brian, Marci, Shelly and Erin. She had 10 great nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

Her parting words to others are “Embrace life, love others, and to “Always be Humble and Kind”

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 29th at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Anchorage, 2824 E. 18th Ave., Anchorage; followed by and ice cream social at the church.
