Born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota
Resided in Anchorage, Alaska

On Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at 1:30 in the afternoon, the world lost an earthly angel: Dorothy Elaine Whitcraft. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and most amazing friend died surrounded by her family and loved ones after a long and brave battle with Parkinson's.
She leaves behind her husband, Earl; her sons, Curtis and Michael; daughter, Christy; daughter-in-law, Katrina; granddaughters, Natasha (Mario) and Katherine (Colin), Dorothy; grandsons, Tyler and David; and great-granddaughters, December and Drea. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Myron "Bub" and Edna Wilson; and her only brother, Harlem.
Dorothy was born in South Dakota. She met Earl Whitcraft at Grand Coulee High School as a freshman; Dorothy and Earl were married in 1956 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They moved to Fairbanks and later to Anchorage, Alaska, and raised their family of three children.
Mom was one of a kind; she never met a stranger, only friends. She loved her family unconditionally and every friend she made became family. If you were fortunate enough to be one of her people you would forever be touched by her kindness and beauty of spirit. She also loved life to the utmost. She traveled and embraced adventure, she loved to dance, hike, bike, boat, catch fish, hunt, cook, water ski, kayak and parasail. Mom had a prolific green thumb. She loved to garden and she could make anything grow. She is and will always be the most wonderful person we know. And she will be missed.
