Obituary

Barbara Kate Akisaqpak Curtis, 60, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at her home in Anchorage, AK. She was born on May 4, 1957 in Noorvik, AK and raised by Walter and Violet Pungalik.
She grew up in Noorvik and moved to Anchorage where she met the love of her life, Michael J. Curtis, Sr. They were married on August 21, 1982.
She loved the Lord, her husband, her children, grandchildren, and the people of Alaska. Her life was dedicated to serving and worshiping the Lord.
Mike and Barbara started into ministry in 1983 and pastored at Wainwright, Kotzebue, Nikiski, Anchorage, Point Hope, and Barrow. Midnight Son Ministries was started in 1987. Although the Yukon River is where God led them the most, they provided support to many Alaskans across the state travelling to 30 or 40 villages each year. Her heart and passion for the Alaska Native people resonates in all the lives she has impacted throughout her life.
